The emergency care courses offered by MedSheq Management Services C.C., levels 1, 2 & 3 provide a new dynamic approach to pre-hospital emergency care, stressing the identification and consideration of ill or injured patients as unique entities that have specific emotional and treatment requirements. Thus an approach that varies from and exceeds traditional treatment methods for specific illnesses and injuries is required.

The emergency care courses offered by this organization follow the protocol and objectives as determined by the Department of Labour in accordance with regulation GSR 3(4) (d) of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Act 85 of 1993.

First Aid

The primary goals and objectives of emergency care courses level 1, 2 & 3 are as follows -

1. To provide a description of the physiology and pathophysiology of illness and the kinematics of traumatic injury.

2. To enable course delegates to understand and provide rapid patient assessment.

3. To advance the delegates level of knowledge in regards to patient assessment, treatment and diagnostic skills.

4. To advance the delegates level of competence in regards to specific trauma and medical patient treatment intervention skills.

5. To provide an overview and establish patient management methods for the emergency care of ill or injured patients.

6. To equip the delegates with a understanding of new treatment techniques and the skills necessary to use modern medical equipment in the treatment of ill or injured patients.

Requirements: minimum of a Grade 8 high school certificate

Requirements: minimum of a Grade 8 high school certificate and a valid emergency care level 1 certificate.

Alternatively the course can be extended to 32 hours combining the Level 1 Emergency Care Course Content ending with a 2-hour assessment.

 

Requirements:
Only individuals who are in possession of a minimum of a Grade 10 high school certificate and who have successfully completed a level 2 emergency care course are permitted to attend this course.
